What does a Mom Coach do? And is it even worth it?

Creating positive change with an experienced and skilled coach can be transformative in your life. In experiencing my own mental health struggles as a new mom, I wish I had a community of moms to lean on when things went crumbling down! I wish I had someone who I could share my challenges with free of judgment. When you work with me I promise to create a judgment free safe space for you.

Motherhood can sometimes feel very lonely and isolating, especially in the early years when you’re expected to navigate your life and the new life you hold in your arms. But I also know from my own experience that asking for help creates a lot of inner turmoil, guilt and shame because we’re expected to push through the hard times alone or with little help. I remember constantly criticizing myself for anything that went wrong with my children. I judged myself so harshly for my mistakes. And I know I’m not the only mom who’s felt that strong shame and guilt around the mother I am and the mother I should be.

But through coaching I was able to cultivate self-compassion and mindfulness by exploring the parts of me I silenced for too long. I reached a point in my motherhood journey where I was tired of being tired. I craved change because it was too painful to live in self-criticism and self-judgment on a daily basis. In the beginning of my motherhood journey, I felt so overwhelmed with all the parenting do’s and don’ts. It was tough to use my own personal judgment when parenting because after all I am a skilled early childhood educator, I should know all these things. But raising your own children is a completely different experience. It’s really exhausting having to be “available” 24/7.

That’s when coaching saved me! By being fully committed to change and the willingness to set learning goals for myself I was able to understand myself so much better but in a different light. Instead of feeling like the victim, being coached empowered me to shift my perspective and focus on my strengths instead of my weaknesses.

So let me ask you…is it worth it to hire a mom coach? If you’re a mom, especially if you’re a new mom you’re probably nodding yes! Motherhood changes a woman in every way possible. Your mind, your body, your spirit are never the same again. I know it sounds dramatic, but it's so true. That’s why when you work with me, I’ll be there to offer you guidance, support,  and valuable tools to help you bring back the joy and peace of motherhood.
